moving on up

pretty legit day at work i gotta say.  finally got assigned a real project and goal to work towards -- and its a pretty critical workflow to our company's business.  pretty legit.  also it was really cool because im working hand in hand in another developer and we're working closing with a product manager and the head of product.  also complicating the project is the scale of the workflow -- we're going to be dealing with lots of difference pieces of technology, and everything is pretty time-critical.  the end-goal we're developing towards right now is actually just the beginning, as there probably will be feature upgrades and revisions, so this whole thing seems pretty ambitious

as for whether i'm ready to tackle this challenge, i'm not quite sure.  although i do know that today i was really excited to start delving into it and brainstorming possible implementations -- which is cool, because i've never dealt with something on this scale nor had any impact on any production system this large.

i guess thats why i chose this job -- i gotta say im probably gonna have to haul ass just to learn all the pieces and then put everything together so it works.  its a good challenge though, one that i embrace.

plus i got my first paycheck today.  woot woot!
